Synopsis/ Plot

Love only comes to those who fight for it in the boxing-themed romantic comedy love Fight directed by Narushima Izuru (Midnight Eagle). Based on Makino Eri's novel, this feisty youth romance features two of Japan Cinema's next big stars, Kitano Kii (Gegege no Kitaro 2) and Hayashi Kento (Battery), in a sprightly tug-of-war of first love, adolescent tropes, and boxing montages. Actor Osawa Takao, who also produced the film, co-stars as a boxing champion.

Bullied for most of his life, wimpy Minoru (Hayashi Kento) has always relied on his childhood friend Aki (Kitano Kii) to swoop in and save him with one of her mean roundhouse kicks. Now that they're in high school though, the dynamics of their love-hate friendship are beginning to change. Aki has grown up into quite the looker, and the object of pursuit for many guys at their school.
